OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
-------------------------------

Unitaid, a partnership hosted by the World Health Organization is focused on accelerating the introduction and adoption of key health products primarily for HIV \& co\-infections, tuberculosis, malaria and women \& children's health. It creates systemic conditions for sustainable and equitable access and aims to foster inclusive and demand\-driven partnerships for innovation. It designs and invests in innovative approaches to make quality health products available and affordable in low\- and middle\-income countries. It promotes collective efforts with partners, countries and communities, unlocking access to the tools, services and care than can deliver the best results, improve health and address global health priorities

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
-------------------------

The role of the Manager\- Health Financing, Results and Impact is to:

  • Coordinate the development, maintenance and application of impact, equity, value for money, and return on investment (ROI) methods across Unitaid’s operating model.

  • Facilitate the use of data, results, and impact analysis in strategic decision\-making across Unitaid’s operating model, including within investment reviews, reprogramming, and in support of business transformation and organizational learning.

  • Coordinate the cycle of Unitaid’s ongoing impact measurement initiatives, collaborating within the Results team or with external modelling teams, Unitaid grant implementers and other partners, as appropriate.

  • Lead the design, development and presentation of tailored health financing investment cases to support scale\-up and sustainability of priority health products and interventions, including tailored cases for key partners such as National Ministries of Health, and scale partners including bilateral funders, The Global Fund, Gavi, and the Global Financing Facility, as required.

  • Support cross\-cutting initiatives that contribute to the exploration, design, and implementation of next generation financing approaches, including performance\-based models and catalytic mechanisms aligned with Unitaid’s Mission and Strategy.

  • Support the maintenance of robust data collection methods for the purpose of Results Team organizational knowledge management.

  • Provide input to the development of results\-based communication products, working closely across Unitaid’s Results Team and with Unitaid’s External Relations and Communications teams.

  • Draft briefing documents, reports, presentations, and other relevant analysis/outputs within the remit of the Manager – Health Financing, Results and Impact role for the Executive Director, Senior Management, the Executive Board (as appropriate), Strategy team and relevant Secretariat departments, including External Relations and Communications, Executive Office, and other stakeholders, as needed.

  • Ensure effective relationship management, e.g., internally with relevant focal points in the Unitaid Executive Office, Senior Management Team, Strategy team and other Unitaid departments, Unitaid’s Executive Board, and external partners, as appropriate.

  • Take forward other tasks assigned by supervisors as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
---------------------------

Education

Essential: Advanced level university degree in finance/economics, public or business administration, or public health.

Experience

Essential: At least Seven (7\) years of relevant experience in impact assessment or evaluation Experience in areas relevant to Unitaid's work (e.g., health policy, global health, Unitaid focus areas including HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria, women and children's health)Knowledge, understanding and relevant experience of health financing and/or innovative financing Strong experience of producing fit\-for\-purpose communications materials for senior\-level officials Extensive experience of building and cultivating stakeholder relationships

Desirable: Professional experience in settings relevant to Unitaid's work, such as global health or other international organizations. Demonstrated experience in project management and coordination of initiatives across an organization

REMUNERATION
----------------

WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 86,027 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 6409 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
