Eco2 Management Services Ltd (EMSL) are looking for a full\-time Management Accountant to be based in our Cardiff head office.

This role sits within our Finance team at an important stage in the development of the function. As the business continues to take on additional client work and make better use of systems and outsourced support, the nature of the work flowing through the team is evolving. This role will support the timely and accurate preparation of internal management reporting, working closely with operational teams and reporting to the Senior Financial Controller.

The Management Accountant will help ensure the smooth running of day\-to\-day financial activities for EMSL and its associated companies, as well as supporting annual processes such as audit, budgeting and tax.

This role would suit someone with solid experience preparing management accounts, including month\-end processes, reconciliations and variance analysis. You will be comfortable preparing clear, accurate financial information for review and able to explain key movements, issues and variances. You will need to be organised, able to prioritise around reporting deadlines, and confident working independently when needed while also contributing positively as part of the wider Finance team. You should also be a clear communicator, comfortable working with different stakeholders, and confident using systems and technology to support accurate and efficient ways of working.

· A competitive salary of up to £40,000 plus performance\-related annual bonus is on offer.

· Your place of work will be our Cardiff Gate office as we value face\-to\-face collaboration, but there will be opportunities to work from home. Our expectation is that new team members will need to be in the office for up to 4 days per week in the early days of their employment to receive training and guidance to ensure they get off to a great start. We will discuss opportunities to work from home more frequently once the training period is complete. All staff are expected to be in the office 2 days as a minimum.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

· Produce and support the review of periodic management accounts.

· Maintain accurate financial records, including invoice approvals, purchase orders, sales invoices and accounting system entries.

· Review recharge costs to ensure costs are allocated and invoiced to the correct company.

· Complete month\-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, VAT returns, balance sheet reconciliations and management accounts packs.

· Provide analysis of profit and loss variances to budget, seeking explanations and investigating queries where required.

· Assist with the production of periodic board reports, ensuring reports are reviewed and approved before issue.

· Support cashflow management by monitoring receipts, following up late payments, preparing payments and highlighting any issues or deviations from expected cash positions.

· Work with operational teams, finance colleagues and external stakeholders to respond to queries and support clear financial reporting.

· Assist with annual processes, including budgeting, audit and tax information requests.

· Work within financial processes, procedures and controls, raising any issues where appropriate.

· Manage your time effectively to ensure reporting deadlines are met and your manager has sufficient time to review work before issue.

Who You Are

You will:

· Have previous experience in a management accounts, project accounts or finance role.

· Be part\-qualified, qualified by experience, or studying towards ACCA, CIMA or a similar accountancy qualification.

· Have solid experience preparing management accounts, including month\-end processes, accruals, prepayments, VAT returns, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.

· Be able to prepare clear, accurate financial information for review, including commentary that explains key movements, variances and issues.

· Have good Excel skills and be confident working with accounting systems, purchase order systems and other finance platforms.

· Be comfortable using systems and technology to improve accuracy, efficiency and ways of working.

· Be organised and able to prioritise your workload effectively, particularly around month\-end and reporting deadlines.

· Be able to work independently when needed, while also contributing positively as part of the wider Finance team.

· Be confident asking questions, investigating issues and following up actions.

· Be a clear and professional communicator, able to build good working relationships with finance colleagues, operational teams, managers, clients and external advisers.

· Be able to produce accurate work with strong attention to detail.

· Be keen to continue developing your finance career in a growing business.
