Become part of Cargill's team at our Westfield manufacturing site near Bathgate and play an important role in keeping our plant operating safely, reliably and efficiently.
The Westfield facility manufactures aqua feed for salmon and trout customers in Scotland and around the world. This is a permanent, full\-time, hands\-on maintenance role with an immediate requirement to strengthen our Engineering team.

Salary £39,691\.20 per annum plus 15% shift allowance, with opportunities for overtime.
Shift pattern
The role operates across a rotating three\-shift pattern:
- Days: 6:00am \- 2:00pm
- Back shift: 2:00pm \- 10:00pm
- Night shift: 10:00pm \- 6:00am

Reporting into the site Engineering/Maintenance team, you'll help ensure the continuous and reliable operation of production equipment through planned, preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative, predictive and reactive mechanical maintenance
- Diagnosing faults and completing safe, effective repairs to minimise plant downtime
- Maintaining and repairing mechanical plant and production equipment
- Working with equipment including pumps, valves, pipework, bearings, gearboxes and hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Supporting production and warehouse machinery and associated plant equipment
- Carrying out lubrication and other routine preventative\-maintenance activities
- Identifying repeat failures and opportunities for preventative improvement
- Supporting equipment installation, commissioning and upgrades
- Undertaking fabrication, pipefitting and welding activities where appropriately skilled
- Reading and working from mechanical schematics, blueprints and operating manuals
- Recording maintenance activity accurately within maintenance systems
- Working closely with Production colleagues to identify and resolve equipment problems
- Participating in continuous\-improvement and plant\-reliability initiatives
- Ensuring equipment remains in a safe and effective operating condition
- Following all relevant safe systems of work, permits, risk assessments and PPE requirements
We're looking for someone who enjoys being hands\-on, solving problems and keeping manufacturing equipment running. Ideally, you'll have:
- Approximately 3\-5 years' practical maintenance experience within a manufacturing, production, process or industrial environment
- A broad mechanical maintenance background
- Practical experience with equipment such as pumps, valves, bearings, pipework and production machinery
- Experience of preventative and corrective maintenance
- Strong mechanical fault\-finding and problem\-solving skills
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- A strong understanding of safe systems of work and Health \& Safety expectations
- The ability to communicate clearly and work closely with Production and Engineering colleagues
- Good English\-language communication skills

Desirable Skills / Experience:
- Basic electrical maintenance or fault\-finding experience
- Welding/fabrication experience
- Previous experience working during planned shutdowns
- Experience of maintenance\-management systems or electronic maintenance logging
