Role Overview
We are looking for a practical, organised and commercially aware individual with experience in property maintenance, repairs or construction.
The successful candidate will become responsible for surveying works, producing quotations, ordering materials, managing stock levels and supporting the operational delivery of works across London.
This is a hands\-on role combining office, site and operational responsibilities.
Core ResponsibilitiesSurveying \& Estimating
- Attend property inspections across London
- Carry out maintenance and refurbishment surveys
- Diagnose defects and identify required works
- Produce accurate reports with photos
- Prepare quotations for maintenance and refurbishment works
- Price labour and materials
- Issue quotations within company timeframes
- Order materials for approved works
- Liaise with suppliers
- Maintain supplier relationships
- Obtain competitive pricing
- Ensure materials are ordered within required timeframes
- Coordinate deliveries to site
- Maintain stock levels within the company storage facility
- Carry out weekly vehicle stock checks
- Carry out equipment inspections
- Ensure engineers have required materials and equipment available
- Maintain inventory records
- Coordinate operational requirements with engineers and office staff
- Assist with scheduling logistics
- Resolve material and supply issues
- Support operational planning
- Carry out leak investigations
- Diagnose maintenance issues
- Produce investigation reports
- Undertake small maintenance works where appropriate, including:
- Smoke alarm installations
- CO alarm installations
- Minor repairs
- Basic maintenance tasks
Essential Experience
- Previous property maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of building repairs
- Understanding of labour and material pricing
- Ability to diagnose maintenance issues
- Experience ordering construction materials
- Good organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently
- Leak investigation experience
- Refurbishment experience
- Tradify experience
- Lettings or property management experience
- Experience supervising engineers or subcontractors
- Procurement experience
Successful candidates will be expected to:
- Produce quotes within 24\-48 hours
- Order materials within 24 hours of approval
- Maintain stock levels across vehicles and storage
- Complete independent site surveys
- Carry out leak investigations
- Reduce operational bottlenecks
- Support engineers effectively
- Operate with minimal supervision
