Maintenance for Nursing Home

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance person to join our team at a reputable nursing home. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and safety of the facility’s infrastructure, equipment, and systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong technical background and leadership qualities to contribute to a caring environment that prioritises resident comfort and safety. The successful applicant will ideally have experience in electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, and general maintenance tasks. Duties

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems within the nursing home.


• Diagnose and repair faults in equipment, including lighting, lifts, and specialised medical or care equipment.


• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.


• Supervise contractors during repair or installation projects when required.


• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.


• Assist with emergency repairs to minimise disruption to residents’ daily routines.


• Collaborate with care staff to ensure that all facilities meet the highest standards of safety and comfort.

• Mechanical knowledge including experience with maintenance of HVAC systems, pumps, motors, and other mechanical equipment.


• Proven supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance environment.


• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.


• Good communication skills in English to liaise effectively with team members and external contractors.


• Customer service orientation with a focus on resident satisfaction and safety compliance. This role is vital in maintaining a safe, comfortable environment for residents while supporting the operational needs of the nursing home through expert technical skills and leadership qualities.
