Maintenance Engineer (Production)

We are an expanding steel manufacturing company based in Cannock, continuing to grow through new project wins and ongoing investment in our facilities.

We are looking for a reliable and practical Maintenance Engineer to help keep our production machinery operating safely and efficiently. This is a hands\-on role within a fast\-paced manufacturing environment where you'll work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and support continuous improvement.

The Role

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on production machinery.


• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.


• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns.


• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery.


• Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase reliability and efficiency.


• Maintain accurate maintenance records.


• Work safely and in line with company procedures.


• Liaise with production teams and external contractors when required.

• Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.


• Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.


• Ability to read technical drawings and manuals.


• Experience using diagnostic equipment.


• Strong fault\-finding and problem\-solving skills.


• Able to work independently and as part of a team.


• Full UK driving licence (essential).


• Reliable with excellent attendance.

• Active manufacturing facility.


• Manual handling, lifting and climbing required.


• Standing and walking for extended periods.


• Working in varying factory conditions.

• £36,000–£43,000 depending on experience.
