Machine Setter/Operator
We are now seeking to employ an additional Machine Setter/Operator for our Tape Production Department (40 hours per week rotating dayshift/backshift).
Based in Southfield Industrial Estate, Glenrothes, the successful candidate will initially be trained on dayshift (approximate 2 months) and will receive training in the setting up and operation of our Tapemaking Machines. Thereafter they will adopt a rotating shift pattern (Dayshift Mon\-Fri 6am\-2pm and Backshift Mon\-Thu 2pm\-midnight).
It is essential that applicants have previous production and machinery experience however full training will be given on our bespoke machinery. This position is very much hands\-on therefore applicants should have excellent troubleshooting skills and an eye for fine detail. Accuracy is vital to allow the calculation of customer requirements, complete relevant paperwork and to take responsibility for their own quality of work. This role involves PC use on our ERP system for data entry. Reporting to the Tape Production \& Development Manager, The Machine Operator role includes:
- setting up Tape Making machines within acceptable timescales
- ensuring Carrier Tape is manufactured to the specified tolerances
- ensuring quality of finished products, meeting set targets with regards to quality, quantity, and timescales given
- effectively report any issues with machines in the production logs and complete all paperwork
- assemble 'finished product' reels to enable the loading of produced carrier tape onto machines
- responsible for leaving the production area clean and tidy for the next shift
- adhering to best health and safety practices at all times

- Training (dayshift) \- 40 hours per week 8am\-5pm Mon\-Thu, 8am\-2pm Friday.
- Dayshift hours \- 40 hours per week. 6am\-2pm Monday\-Friday
- Backshift hours \- 40 hours per week 2pm\-Midnight Monday\-Thursday
- A sixth shift allowance added once rotating shift commences.
- Pension provided by AEGON above government minimum contribution.
