Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Team Lead to oversee and optimise our supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing logistics activities, ensuring efficient transportation and warehouse management, and leading a team to meet organisational objectives. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of logistics processes within a dynamic environment.

Please note that this is a working Team Lead role with the expectation that approximately 50% of the time will be spent performing Logistics Operative duties.

Duties

  • To confidently handle all performance management matters that arise within the team in line with the company policies.

  • Co\-ordinate departmental workload/resources and ensure standards of timekeeping and attendance within the team are maintained in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Setting departmental and team objectives. Identify and support training initiatives and raise standards of competence within the department.

  • Monitor and develop staff goals for Logistics Team.

  • Ensure individuals have regular feedback on progress and performance in roles and training. Give praise and recognition.

  • Analyse expenditures, and identify opportunities for cost savings.

  • Implement supply chain strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support business goals.

  • Provide analytical reporting on relevant performance indicators.

  • Handle unexpected delays and disruptions in the supply chain.

  • Conduct analysis of team performance data, highlighting trends and variations by comparing peak productivity periods with quieter times to inform operational improvements.

  • Be responsible for creation and maintenance of local packaging standards and process SOP’s

  • Work with Customer Services, Manufacturing, Quality and Sales on My Case investigations to identify root causes and establish corrective action plans

  • Collaborate with Logistics and Site Management on logistics initiatives and projects
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain management

  • Previous experience within a supervisory role is essential

  • Previous experience working with carriage handlers

  • Good IT Skills and knowledge of packages, in particular Excel

  • Good working knowledge of ERP systems Syteline or similar

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets for decision\-making purposes. This role is ideal for a proactive individual eager to contribute to the optimisation of our logistics operations while leading a dedicated team towards operational excellence.
Pay: £32,000\.00\-£36,000\.00 per year
