Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Logistics Manager to oversee and optimise our supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities, ensuring efficient and cost\-effective logistics processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead a dynamic team and implement process improvements within a fast\-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective category management strategies to optimise inventory levels and reduce costs.
- Oversee transportation management systems (TMS) to coordinate shipping schedules, routes, and freight carriers.
- Manage warehouse operations using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as AS400 to ensure accurate stock control and order fulfilment.
- Coordinate with third\-party logistics providers (3PL) to streamline shipping \& receiving processes.
- Lead process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, safety, and quality within logistics operations.
- Supervise materials handling activities, including picking \& packing, using forklift trucks where necessary.
- Analyse data related to supply chain performance to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimisation.
- Ensure compliance with health \& safety regulations during all logistics activities.
- Collaborate with cross\-functional teams to align logistics strategies with overall business objectives.
- Proven experience in logistics management or supply chain roles, preferably within warehousing or distribution environments.
- Strong knowledge of category management, process improvement methodologies, and supply chain principles.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems such as AS400, and data analysis tools.
- Hands\-on experience with materials handling equipment including forklifts; forklift certification is desirable.
- Familiarity with third\-party logistics (3PL) operations, shipping \& receiving procedures, and warehouse best practices.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets for decision\-making purposes.
