About the Role
The company are looking for a reliable and hardworking Logistics \& Contents Operative to join our growing team.
Working within the insurance restoration industry, you will assist with the removal, handling, transportation and processing of household contents following water, smoke and other property damage.
This is a varied, hands\-on role that involves working at customers’ properties across the East. You will play an important part in helping homeowners and businesses recover their belongings following an incident.
Key Responsibilities
● Attend residential and commercial properties throughout the East to carry out contents removals.
● Carefully wrap, pack, label and transport household contents to our facilities in Boreham, Essex.
● Handle customers’ belongings with care, professionalism and respect.
● Assess items and assist in determining whether contents are restorable or beyond economical repair (BER).
● Assist with the loading and unloading of vehicles.
● Ensure contents are correctly documented, labelled and stored.
● Assist with the preparation of contents for off\-site cleaning, restoration and other specialist works.
● Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, organisation and housekeeping at company facilities and on\-site.
● Work closely with colleagues, customers, contractors and insurance industry partners.
● Complete paperwork and job records accurately.
● Follow company health \& safety procedures and industry best practices.
About You
We are looking for someone who is practical, dependable and takes pride in doing a job properly.
You will ideally have previous experience in removals, logistics, warehousing, property restoration, construction or a similar hands\-on environment, although experience within the insurance restoration industry is not essential as full training will be provided.
The successful candidate will:
● Hold a full UK driving licence.
● Be physically fit and comfortable with lifting and moving household items.
● Have a careful and methodical approach to handling customers’ possessions.
● Be reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
● Have good communication and customer service skills.
● Be comfortable working in different locations across the East.
● Be willing to learn and develop new skills.
● Have a professional and respectful attitude when working in customers’ homes.
Previous removals experience is beneficial but not essential.
Training \& Development
Full in\-house training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Following completion of the probationary period, there will also be opportunities to undertake industry\-specific training and qualifications, allowing you to develop your knowledge and career within the insurance restoration sector.
