Locum Pharmacist
Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen at London Road Surgery for the position of a Locum pharmacist for 4 months. We are looking for a qualified and experienced clinical pharmacist to work 30 hours Ideally they should have a prescribing qualification. We moved to Total Triage in June 2025\.
London Road Surgery has 14,400 patients and we have modern well\-equipped premises, built in 2017, offering an excellent working environment with free car parking. We are close to Wickford High Street and Wickford Station.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
Clinically assessing and treating patients, using expert knowledge of medicines, for specific disease areas.
Providing specialist expertise in the use of medicines and medicine information (i.e. side\-effects, dosage) across the practice.
Providing pharmaceutical medication review, and health education advice, to patients at the designated practices by face\-to\-face, telephone or notes\-based review, as agreed with the practice.
Providing leadership on person\-centred medicines optimisation and quality improvement.
Contributing to public health campaigns, including flu vaccinations, childhood immunisation and adult immunisation programmes.
Processing specialist treatment letters.
Processing hospital medication discharge letters.
Acting as a key contact in the practice, for all medication related queries.
Supporting improvements in clinical care, through practice\-based audits and implementing change.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
Qualified pharmacist with significant experience, current registration with General Pharmaceutical Council.
Confident in use of electronic records and systems; databases and spreadsheets.
NMP
Diploma in clinical pharmacy or pharmacy practice.
Leadership activities in previous work.
Evidence of consistent pattern of learning from education, training and experience.
We have a Good rating from the recent CQC Inspection in October 2021, and we participate in pilots to enhance patient care. We are active members of the Wickford PCN and lead on the Wellbeing Café at the Nevendon Centre starting on 7\.5\.25

Pay: £37,098\.90\-£65,400\.34 per year
