Loading & Quality Supervisor

Responsibilities

Loading \& despatch

• Plan and supervise daily loading schedules against the despatch/delivery programme, sequencing units to match site installation order


• Check load security, weight distribution and trailer suitability; sign off loads before vehicles leave the yard


• Produce and check delivery paperwork — delivery notes, unit marks, quantities — and resolve discrepancies before despatch

• Operate overhead gantry and mobile cranes for lifting, turning and loading precast units


• Act as appointed person / lift supervisor for routine lifts; select and inspect chains, slings, clutches and lifting accessories


• Carry out pre\-use checks on lifting equipment and maintain LOLER inspection recordsDirect slingers and banksmen, and control exclusion zones during lifting

• Hand\-finish, patch and make good precast units to the required surface finish standard


• Inspect units after strike for honeycombing, cracking, blowholes, cover and dimensional tolerance; sign off or reject against spec


• Check unit marking, cast\-in fixings, lifting sockets and reinforcement positioning against drawings

• Supervise and develop a yard team, including toolbox talks, inductions and on\-the\-job training


• Enforce PPE, safe systems of work and RAMS compliance across loading and finishing operations


• Support continuous improvement in yard layout, stacking and stock control to reduce damage and double\-handling
