The Role

We are looking for an ambitious Linux Systems Administrator or early-career DevOps Engineer who is ready to take a major step forward in their career. If you have a rock-solid foundation in Linux systems administration and a passion for automation, this is a rare opportunity to work on genuinely complex, low-latency infrastructure that most engineers at this stage rarely get to touch.

You will join a small, highly skilled DevOps team where you will be hands-on from day one. We are looking for a true tech enthusiast—someone who genuinely enjoys solving infrastructure problems, structures pipelines thoughtfully, and gets quiet satisfaction from a perfectly automated system.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure & Automation: Help build, scale, and automate on-premise infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (primarily Terraform).


• Container Platforms: Contribute to automation across containerised and bare-metal environments, expanding your footprint in Kubernetes and OpenShift.


• Configuration Management: Write automated workflows using Ansible, Python, and supporting DevOps tools.


• CI/CD & GitOps: Partner with Development and Infrastructure teams to implement new deployment workflows using modern container-native and GitOps patterns.


• Architecture & Design: Actively participate in architectural discussions—we want you to form views, share ideas, and contribute to technical decisions.


• Capacity & Operations: Manage Linux systems at scale, driving capacity planning across Development, QA, Test, and Production environments.

• Linux Expertise: A solid, practical foundation in Linux systems administration (RedHat, CentOS, Rocky or similar) with strong command-line confidence.


• Automation Instincts: Strong scripting skills using Bash and Python; exposure to Ansible or Terraform is highly advantageous.


• Core Networking: A working understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, load balancing, and firewalls to logically debug system issues.


• CI/CD Tools: Familiarity with Git concepts and standard build pipelines (GitLab experience is a strong plus).


• Container Exposure: Basic experience with Docker; any exposure to Kubernetes or OpenShift is a massive plus.


• Passionate Mindset: Strong self-direction—personal projects or homelabs are highly valued and viewed as valid experience.

This role is specifically structured for rapid professional growth. In this position, you will develop deep, production-level expertise in:

• Enterprise Kubernetes and OpenShift across complex, high-scale environments.


• Advanced GitOps workflows and container-native deployment tooling (ArgoCD, Helm).


• Large-scale infrastructure design patterns and low-latency databases (e.g., Elasticsearch, MySQL).


• A highly sought-after, elite understanding of financial market technology infrastructure.

Salary: £90/100k + Bonus + Benefits
