Leicester Riders Foundation General Manager
Purpose of Role
The aim of Leicester Riders Foundation is to provide high quality, accessible, life changing opportunities through sport and physical activity, to our local communities, with a particular focus on young people, improving people’s health, education, confidence and skills, increasing positive behaviours and bringing improvements to the lives of the people we work with. We use the power and strength of professional basketball and sport to engage with the local community.
The Manager’s role is to provide all necessary strategic direction and management of the Leicester Riders Foundation, including full profit and loss responsibility, and managing and developing the community team, including all necessary support related to the core activities of the Foundation, working with schools, groups, the public sector, our commercial partners and our third sector partners.
The Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the Foundation, including, but not limited to, strategy, fund raising, marketing, business development, public relations, staff recruitment and management, project and programme delivery, and financial management and reporting, and all other related activities.
Structure
Reports to the Leicester Riders Foundation Board
Expected to work closely with Foundation partners (Leicester Riders, Mattioli Arena) Expected to work closely with Foundation sponsors and partners
Key Responsibilities
· To assume responsibility for all Foundation strategy and operations
· To develop and manage the delivery of the Foundation’s Strategic Plan
· To develop and manage the delivery of the Foundation’s Business Plan
· To Identify and access new funding streams to increase the output of the Community Programme ensuring long\-term sustainability
· To ensure that an appropriately skilled workforce is in place along with training and development programmes for all staff (full time, part time and volunteers)
· To manage and develop the team to run the Foundation
· To develop a clear understanding of local, regional and national trends within the sports, health, education and voluntary sectors
· To liaise with key agencies to create professional partnerships which maximise opportunities and further develop the Foundation
· To manage the Foundation’s finances ensuring it runs effectively in line with annual budgets and external commitments
· To manage key elements of HR to ensure all contractual and non\-contractual policies are in place and current
· To ensure that all statutory obligations are met and relevant policies and procedures are in place
· To ensure the highest quality and standards of projects to meet objectives and attain social impact, through effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting of all projects
· To work closely with partners, including the Leicester Riders and Mattioli Arena
· To enhance the profile of the Foundation including appropriate media coverage and an effective communications strategy
· To develop, maintain and ensure compliance with all Foundation operating procedures
· To ensure all Foundation customers are treated with equality and respect, and in compliance with the safeguarding policy and procedures
· To provide regular accurate reporting to the Board on all matters, as required.

· A minimum of 5 years direct experience in a lead role managing a multi\-skilled staff team in a multi\-disciplinary context
· Proven track record of delivering against agreed metrics, financial and other
· Evidence of developing strategic plans
· Proven ability to develop effective marketing plans
· Evidence of building and leading an effective management team
· Good understanding of financial management and controls
· A demonstrable track record of engagement with senior management in the statutory, commercial and political sectors and the ability to supervise
· Knowledge of the working with children and vulnerable people, and all the associated appropriate processes and procedures
· Knowledge of charity/ voluntary sectors
Pay: £35,000\.00\-£40,000\.00 per year
