My client a boutique law firm based in Central London are looking for a permanent Legal Cashier.

Carry out daily banking functions including issuing cheques, handling deposits, and preparing telegraphic transfers/CHAPS payments for authorisation.

  • Maintain client and office account ledgers, ensuring all transactions are posted regularly and efficiently.

  • Organise telegraphic transfers/CHAPS/BACS payments as required, subject to authorisation and approval.

  • Issue cheques from client and office accounts and handle inter-account transfers.

  • Liaise with the firm’s suppliers to ensure timely payment of invoices.

  • Ensure strict compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and general administration, including filing and archiving.

  • Assist with financial management in liaison with fee earners, including time/disbursements recording and handling financial queries related to files.

  • Occasionally assist with other general office administrative tasks as required by the partners.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in legal cashiering

  • Strong understanding of banking processes including telegraphic transfers, CHAPS, and BACS payments.

  • Familiarity with the Solicitors Accounts Rules is highly desirable.

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with various internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

  • Proficiency in financial software LEAP or Xero

  • The role is hybrid and 9.30-5.30pm.
