Reed is pleased to be exclusively recruiting for the position of Director of Asset Strategy on behalf of a leading housing association. This senior role is crucial for leading the organisation's asset strategy, ensuring the property portfolio is optimised to deliver long-term financial resilience, regulatory compliance, and strategic outcomes for 2050.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Develop and implement comprehensive asset management strategies, anticipating significant trends and addressing complex challenges.
- Lead the optimisation of property evaluations, market trend analysis, growth opportunities identification, and risk management procedures.
- Establish and communicate impactful data and analytics insights to support strategic decisions.
- Manage risks and issues within the area of responsibility, developing solutions to mitigate risks and ensure successful strategy implementation.
- Set and approve budgets that align with the organisation's long-term strategic goals.
- Oversee long-term financial modelling for property portfolios, integrating these into corporate business planning and treasury frameworks.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive policy framework for asset management and ensure its effective implementation.
- Extensive senior leadership experience within asset management, strategic portfolio management, or property investment in a large, complex housing association or similar regulated environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver asset strategies at scale.
- Expertise in portfolio appraisal methodologies including NPV, IRR, and risk-adjusted modelling.
- Experience leading asset responses to evolving legislation and regulation, including building safety and sustainability requirements.
- Proven track record in strategic disposals, stock transfer programmes, and major data transformation programmes.
- Strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of housing markets, valuation principles, and treasury impacts.
- Exceptional leadership skills with experience in building high-performing teams and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
