Cardiff and Vale College are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Electronics to join Team CAVC. If you are passionate about developing the next generation of skilled engineering professionals and enjoy delivering engaging, hands\-on learning, we would love to hear from you.
The Role
Based at our City Centre Campus (Travel between campuses will be required), you will deliver high\-quality teaching, assessment and learner support across a range of engineering programmes from Level 1 to Level 5\. You will support learners to develop strong technical knowledge, practical skills and confidence, while monitoring progress and identifying individual learning and support needs.
You will be responsible for all aspects of the learner journey, including lesson planning, delivery, assessment, tutorial support and accurate recording of learner progress within College systems. You will also contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement within the department.
In addition, you will play a role in learner recruitment and course promotion, working collaboratively with colleagues and engaging with external stakeholders where appropriate to support the growth and success of the provision.
This role requires flexibility to work across College sites and community venues, including occasional evenings and weekends in line with curriculum delivery.
About You
You will have strong industry experience in electronics or electrical engineering, alongside excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be confident engaging with learners at all levels and committed to supporting both their academic progress and personal development.
You will be a motivated and enthusiastic individual who thrives in a collaborative environment, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.
A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one) is essential, along with a relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
You will also have:
- Experience of delivering or supporting teaching and learning (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
- A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital learning platforms
