Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive educational environment working with learners aged 16–19\. The successful candidate will work closely with students, including those with additional learning needs and EHCPs, to support their learning, development, and engagement within a structured and inclusive setting. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing tailored in\-class support and helping learners achieve their personal and academic goals.

Salary: £21,355
Working Hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm

You will be supporting learners within Sport department helping students achieve their EHCP targets and personal learning goals, while promoting independence, confidence, and progress in a classroom environment.

Duties

  • Support learners with EHCP outcomes and individual learning goals

  • Adapt learning materials to improve accessibility and understanding

  • Provide in\-class support during structured learning activities and interventions

  • Assist with managing engagement, behaviour, and classroom routines

  • Promote positive interactions and an inclusive learning environment

  • Work one\-to\-one and in small groups to reinforce learning objectives set by teaching staff

  • Support learners in developing confidence, independence, and study skills

  • Communicate effectively with teaching staff to ensure consistent support strategies

  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment

  • Support the organisation and use of classroom resources and materials
Experience
  • Previous experience supporting young people in educational settings is desirable

  • Experience working with individuals with SEND or additional learning needs is highly advantageous

  • Understanding of EHCPs and inclusive learning strategies preferred

  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with learners and staff

  • Compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting learners

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a classroom environment
