About Etech Mobility
Etech Mobility is a UK mobility brand selling electric wheelchairs, scooters, manual chairs and accessories. We sell primarily online, supported by showrooms at our Birmingham HQ and Glasgow, with Manchester and London opening this year. Our mission: making mobility affordable and empowering for everyone.
Birmingham is our HQ: our largest showroom and strongest revenue per site. This role leads the team running our busiest showroom while Manchester and London come online this year.
The role
You'll lead the day\-to\-day running of our Birmingham showroom — a 2–3 person team. You're senior and hands\-on:
- Run the appointment book and walk\-in flow
- Demo product and close sales yourself
- Train and develop the Sales Consultants on the team
- Own showroom presentation and display, stock requisitions from our central warehouse, opening/closing routines, customer escalations
- Report weekly performance to the POS Manager
- When you're not with a customer, your time goes to follow\-up calls, outbound to qualified prospects, and team training
Working pattern
The showroom is open 6 days/week (Mon–Sat, 9:00am–5:30pm). You work 5 days/week, 40 hours total, with one rotating weekday off. Both you and the team work every Saturday, our busiest day for appointments. Predictable schedule: no rotating weekends, no Sundays.
What we're looking for
- Sales leadership readiness: either as an existing team lead / sales manager, or as a top\-performing senior consultant clearly ready for your first management step. We're looking for someone who can lead by example and develop others.
- Strong individual sales background: you close sales yourself, not just run meetings about closing.
- Consultative, patient, empathetic. Our customers have mobility limitations and the hard sell doesn't work. We don't want it.
- Full UK driving licence (occasional home demos and pop\-up events).
- Comfortable with digital tools (Shopify POS, appointment tracking, basic admin).
- Mobility/medical sector experience is a plus, not a requirement. Product knowledge is trainable.
- £30,000 base salary (£14\.42/hr × 40hr × 52wk)
- Showroom performance bonus, paid monthly based on team revenue
- Realistic OTE at current Birmingham performance: \~£39,000
- Maximum OTE: £60,000 (above this, the next career step is Multi\-Site Manager)
- 28 days paid annual leave, pension auto\-enrolment
- Paid monthly via PAYE; showroom bonus credited the month after performance
6\-month Acting Lead period. You're paid at full Lead rate from day one and carry full Lead responsibilities. At month 6, a formal review either confirms the role permanently or, if it's not working, transitions you to a Consultant role at the standard Consultant rate. KPI targets:
- Individual appointment conversion: 70%\+ rolling 3\-month average by end of month 3
- Showroom team conversion: 70%\+ maintained
- Return rate: under 10%
- No avoidable departures attributable to leadership decisions
