Accountabilities

  • Design the core platform primitives developers need, including projects, environments, secrets, and logs, and ensure they work cohesively across compute, edge scripting, and database capabilities.

  • Shape the Developer Platform product direction from discovery through delivery, iteration, and continuous improvement.

  • Translate developer insights, customer needs, and market signals into clear product priorities and engineering plans.

  • Identify and resolve technical or product decisions that could undermine a unified and intuitive developer experience before they reach production.

  • Provide clarity on complex problems and establish the context needed for engineers to make effective decisions independently.

  • Lead a small engineering team by setting direction, developing people, providing clear feedback, and maintaining a high standard for shipped and operated systems.

  • Remain hands-on by contributing to prototypes, application programming interfaces (APIs), dashboards, instrumentation, documentation, and production code.

  • Define and measure product success, from initial deployment through adoption and expansion, and use data and learnings to guide future priorities.

  • Work cross-functionally with Compute, Frontend, Design, and Product Marketing teams to create a cohesive experience across the dashboard, API, command-line interface (CLI), and documentation.

  • Make pragmatic architectural and tooling decisions that balance experimentation speed, reliability, performance, security, cost, and customer trust.

  • Conduct experiments and Proofs of Concept (PoCs) where appropriate to validate technical approaches and determine whether solutions can scale.

  • Promote strong product thinking, technical judgment, ownership, and decision-making practices across the engineering organization.
Requirements
  • Experience owning the full product discovery, delivery, and iteration lifecycle at meaningful scale, or demonstrated readiness to take on this level of end-to-end ownership.

  • Strong product judgment and the ability to turn ambiguous, complex problems into clear priorities and meaningful outcomes.

  • Strong technical depth and the ability to challenge solutions, evaluate trade-offs, and make production changes independently.

  • Comfortable working with data, including defining meaningful metrics, interpreting funnels and retention curves, and using experimentation to inform decisions.

  • Strong business and market awareness, including understanding Ideal Customer Profiles (ICP), pricing, competitive dynamics, revenue drivers, and how products support broader business strategy.

  • High standards for software quality, reliability, performance, security, and customer trust.

  • Proven ability to help other engineers make stronger technical and product decisions and take greater ownership.

  • Experience leading engineers, including setting direction, developing people, providing feedback, and creating an environment where teams can make product decisions rather than simply execute tasks.

  • Clear communication skills, high ownership, and a low-ego approach to collaboration.

  • Strong ability to work strategically while remaining comfortable getting hands-on with technical implementation.

  • Fluency with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and workflows, using AI thoughtfully for research, analysis, prototyping, coding, testing, and communication while maintaining accountability for quality.

  • Experience building developer platforms, deployment tools, or products where developer experience is a central part of the product is highly desirable.

  • Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, and debugging workloads on comparable platforms is a plus.

  • Ability to engage directly with customers as comfortably as working deeply with technology.

  • Strong systems thinking, with the ability to understand how individual features, products, technical systems, and teams fit together.

  • Ability to work effectively in a distributed European environment, ideally within approximately three hours of Central European Time (CET).
Benefits

  • Meeting-free Thursdays to support uninterrupted deep work.

  • €500 annual home office budget.

  • Paid sick leave.

  • Paid parental leave of 16 weeks for birthing parents and 8 weeks for non-birthing parents, with top-up provisions where local statutory benefits are lower.

  • Mental health resources and support through BetterHelp.

  • €480 annual wellness budget.

  • €500 annual educational budget for books, seminars, courses, and other learning opportunities.

  • Annual Apple Music, Spotify, or YouTube Premium subscription.

  • Opportunity to work on developer infrastructure and products used by a global developer community.

  • Significant autonomy, technical ownership, and opportunities to influence product direction.
