Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Dental Nurse to join our reputable dental practice. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high\-quality patient care, supporting the dental team, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily clinic activities. The Lead Dental Nurse will be responsible for supervising junior staff, managing patient flow, and maintaining clinical standards in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional patient care by assisting dentists during various procedures and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit.

  • Supervise and support junior dental nurses, fostering a collaborative team environment.

  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials prior to appointments.

  • Maintain accurate patient records using IT systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.

  • Manage appointment scheduling, confirming bookings, and rescheduling as necessary to optimise clinic efficiency.

  • Ensure all clinical equipment is sterilised, maintained, and used in accordance with health and safety standards.

  • Educate patients on post\-treatment care and answer any questions they may have about their dental health.

  • Assist with infection control procedures and maintain a clean, organised clinical environment.

  • Support the practice manager in administrative tasks such as stock control and ordering supplies.
Skills
  • Proven experience in patient care within a dental or healthcare setting.

  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with patients and team members.

  • Solid understanding of nursing principles relevant to dental practice.

  • Proficiency in IT systems used for record keeping and appointment management.

  • Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating leadership qualities as Lead Dental Nurse.

  • Attention to detail to ensure compliance with health \& safety regulations and clinical standards.

Pay: £14\.00\-£15\.00 per hour
