Kitchen Fitter
Overview
Primary aim is to personally and successfully undertake kitchen door installations in a timely fashion and with minimal call\-outs, to include carcasses and consumables where applicable.
Carry out all Check Measure appointments within customer homes and manage the order process from the Workshop.
To support your fellow colleagues as business requires across the granite resurfacing fabrication and installations as needed.
Ensure customers are happy from the moment you enter their home until you leave post\-installation.
Responsibilities
\- Ensure Call / Measure appointments run smoothly within a customer’s home.
\- Communicate clearly with Operations Manager following check measures/surveys ensuring the right components are ordered for kitchen installations.
\- Liaise with Operations Manager as needed to follow up on queries, order problems or changes.
\- Safely load and transport product to the customer’s home, ensuring zero damage.
\- Liaise with Operations Manager with regards to any issues over damage or incorrect product once unloaded and unpacked at the customer’s home / installation site.
\- On arrival at the customer’s home, ensure all interaction is courteous and professional at all times.
\- Liaise with Operations Manager as the installation progresses and provide proactive report on progress and any assistance needed, if required.
\- Inspect the installation project areas and products (kitchen doors / carcasses and consumables including handles) for damage prior to installation.
\- Provide protection to the installation as needed therefore avoiding / minimising damage to the property during installation.
\- Agree any adjustments in advance with the customer and the Sales Person.
\- Install kitchen doors and other products in accordance with the sales agreement to the highest possible standard.
\- Clean all areas of the installation project area post\-installation.
\- Ensure supervisor is aware of completion.
\- Organise paperwork (Job Pack) after you’ve completed the installation in the customer’s home and gain their sign off; ensure all job completion tasks, final warranty, payment, care and maintenance have all been discussed with the customer.
\- Collect any outstanding payment (usually by cheque) after completion of the installation.
\- Return to workshop post\-installation to complete Job Pack process and liaise with the General Manager with regards to payment received.
\- Manage unused supplies and return them with any off\-cuts to the workshop allowing for future use.
Skills
\- Qualification in carpentry / joinery.
\- Hands on experience where carpentry / joinery preferably within kitchen installations.
\- Knowledge of plumbing would be highly desirable.
\- Any fabricating experience desirable.
\- Must enjoy learning and have a desire to continually learn new skills.
\- Very well presented.
\- Flexible approach to work due to nature of team and business requirements.
\- Excellent communications skills both face to face and by telephone.
\- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 35kg safely (loading, transporting / installing).
\- Physical ability to safely operate large and small hand tools in a customer’s home or designated outside work areas.
\- Able to carry out installations and all physical aspects required.
\- Team player.
\- Understands and is able to work to deadlines.
\- Excels in environments where accuracy and minimal wastage is paramount.
\- Good time keeping.
\- Full UK Driving Licence.
