St George’s Lodge is a welcoming 26\-bed residential care home in Worthing, part of SDR Group, a family\-owned care provider, where mealtimes play an important role in bringing comfort, enjoyment, and a true sense of home to our residents.

We are looking for a reliable, caring and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our small and friendly kitchen team.

As a 26\-bed residential care home, we pride ourselves on creating a warm, family\-style environment where residents are known as individuals and staff are genuinely valued.

Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential – full training will be provided.

About the Role

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the smooth running of the kitchen, helping to prepare and serve meals that are nutritious, well\-presented, and enjoyable for residents.

You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety while contributing to a positive dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the preparation and serving of meals


• Maintaining high standards of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness


• Washing up and general kitchen duties


• Ensuring food is stored safely and correctly


• Following food safety and infection control procedures


• Working closely as part of a small, supportive kitchen team


• Helping create a positive and welcoming mealtime experience for residents
