Key Stage 2 SLD/MLD teacher

QTS not essential but a similar qualification and/or relevant experience is required for this role.

An amazing school in Winnersh are seeking two dedicated teachers who are nurturing, calm, and passionate about making learning engaging and meaningful for pupils with special educational needs.

One class is a Year 4/5 cohort working broadly within the Reception to Year 1 developmental range. These pupils learn best through practical experiences and require a teacher who can deliver highly motivating and engaging learning opportunities. The curriculum places a strong emphasis on developing life skills, communication, and social interaction, helping pupils to build independence and confidence in everyday situations.

The second class consists of Year 6 pupils working broadly at a Year 2 level. These pupils benefit from structured teaching approaches, clear instructions, and regular opportunities to revisit and consolidate learning. They require support to develop their social understanding, emotional literacy, and self-confidence, enabling them to engage successfully with both learning and their peers.

You will need to be skilled in adapting learning to meet a wide range of needs, building positive and trusting relationships, and creating an inclusive classroom environment where every pupil feels valued and supported. We are looking for teachers who can balance high expectations with patience, consistency, and empathy, while fostering pupils' communication, independence, and personal development through engaging and purposeful learning experiences.
