Junior Electrical Estimator

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and detail\-oriented Junior Electrical Estimator to join our pre\-construction team at our East Grinstead office.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1–2 years’ estimating experience within the electrical contracting industry who is looking to develop their career within a specialist contractor environment.
The successful candidate will support the Managing Director, who currently oversees the estimating function alongside running the business. Full guidance, mentoring, and in\-house training will be provided, offering excellent long\-term career progression opportunities within the company.
The role is primarily office\-based in East Grinstead, with occasional travel to project sites across Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, and London.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation of electrical estimates and tender submissions.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
- Carrying out take\-offs and preparing accurate costings for labour and materials.
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations.
- Supporting procurement and pre\-construction activities.
- Maintaining tender documentation and estimating records.
- Supporting the smooth handover of projects from estimating to delivery teams.
- Working to strict deadlines and managing workload effectively.
- 1–2 years’ experience in a similar estimating or electrical pre\-construction role.
- Electrical contracting background or relevant electrical industry knowledge.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using Trimble Estimating / Contract Master software would be advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence preferred, but not essential.
