Junior CAD Engineer

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Junior CAD Engineer to join our Sales Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their engineering and design skills while gaining exposure to the commercial side of manufacturing.
The Role
As a Junior CAD Engineer, you will support the sales team by producing technical drawings, interpreting customer requirements, and assisting with the preparation of quotations. You will work closely with customers, sales staff, and the production team to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture.
This role would suit someone with CAD experience who is looking to build a career in engineering design and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce 2D and 3D CAD drawings using SolidWorks and other CAD software.
- Review and manipulate customer\-supplied drawings and models to create workable CAD models and drawings suitable for manufacture.
- Convert customer designs into production\-ready drawings and flat patterns where required.
- Interpret customer drawings, models, and specifications.
- Assist in preparing accurate quotations for laser cutting, waterjet cutting, fabrication, and other manufacturing processes.
- Create manufacturing\-ready drawings for production.
- Liaise with the sales team and production department to ensure designs are practical and cost\-effective.
- Make revisions to drawings based on customer or internal feedback.
- Maintain organised records of drawings and project files.
Essential
- Basic experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, Degree, or relevant apprenticeship).
- Experience in sheet metal, fabrication, laser cutting, or manufacturing environments.
- Experience using multiple CAD platforms.
Pay: £27,000\.00\-£30,000\.00 per year
