Overview
Hewlett Swanson is a well\-established law firm seeking a Junior Administrative Assistant to provide maternity cover to the end of March 2027\. This part\-time role is ideal for someone at the early stages of their administrative career who is looking to gain experience within a professional legal environment.

You will work closely with fee earners and the wider administration team, assisting with day\-to\-day administrative tasks and helping to ensure the smooth running of the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing general administrative support to fee earners and administrative staff

  • Answering telephone calls and handling emails in a professional manner

  • Preparing, formatting, and proofreading documents and correspondence

  • Perform clerical duties such as photocopying, scanning, and maintaining office supplies

  • Maintaining electronic and paper filing systems

  • Booking appointments/setting up meetings and assisting with diary management

  • Supporting client enquiries

  • Client file opening

  • Assisting with billing, time recording, and other administrative tasks as required
About You
  • 5 GCSEs at grades 9 – 4 (A\* \- C), or equivalent including English and Maths

  • Ability to reliably commute to Manchester City Centre essential

  • Some previous administrative or office experience especially in a law firm is desirable, but not essential

  • A willingness to learn and develop within a legal environment

  • Good planning and organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail

  • Strong typing skills and experience using Microsoft Office/365 applications, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel

  • Excellent, professional verbal and written communication skills

  • Self\-motivated with a positive and proactive attitude

  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

  • Ability work as part of a team and time management essential
What We Offer
  • Part\-time hours: 30 hours/week 09:00 – 17:30 four days a week (days to be agreed), with a 1\-hour lunch break
