Junior Account Executive

Are you an experienced Commercial Account Handler looking for a role that offers more ownership and autonomy?

We're working with a well-established insurance brokerage in the Lancashire area that is looking to recruit an SME Junior Account Executive. This is an excellent opportunity to manage your own portfolio of SME commercial clients while developing your business development and account management skills in a role that sits between a traditional Account Handler and Account Executive position.

You'll be responsible for servicing a portfolio of clients across a range of commercial insurance risks, handling renewals and mid-term adjustments, while also developing new business opportunities from leads provided by the business. Although the role is desk-based, you'll have greater responsibility and client ownership than a typical Account Handler position.

Responsibilities of the Junior Account Executive:

• Manage a portfolio of SME commercial insurance clients.


• Handle renewals and mid-term adjustments across a range of general commercial risks.


• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, delivering a high level of service.


• Develop new business opportunities from company-generated leads.


• Identify opportunities to retain and grow existing accounts.


• Liaise with insurers and internal teams to secure the best outcomes for clients.


• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience within commercial insurance, ideally in an Account Handler role.


• Knowledge of general commercial insurance products and risks.


• Experience managing renewals and MTAs.


• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.


• A proactive and organised approach to managing client relationships.


• Ambition to progress into a more client-focused and commercially driven role.
