Jewellery & Watch Sales Assistant – Customer Service & Social Media

Marcus Tempus – East Barnet, London

Marcus Tempus is an independent jewellery and watch retailer with an on\-site watch, clock and jewellery workshop. We are looking for a confident, well\-presented and creative person to join our small team.

This is a varied customer\-facing role combining jewellery and watch sales, customer service, repair administration and social media content creation.

The role

You will be involved in:

• Welcoming and assisting customers in the shop


• Selling jewellery, watches and gifts


• Booking in watch, jewellery and clock repairs


• Accurately recording customers’ requirements


• Explaining our services and processes clearly


• Helping with general shop administration


• Keeping displays attractive and well presented


• Photographing jewellery, watches and behind\-the\-scenes workshop content


• Creating content for Instagram and other social media


• Helping with posts, Stories and short\-form video/Reels


• Bringing your own ideas for showcasing new jewellery, interesting repairs and life inside an independent jeweller

You don’t need to be a jewellery or watch expert when you start. We are happy to teach the right person about gemstones, jewellery, watches and our workshop services.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Friendly, confident and comfortable speaking with customers


• Smart and professionally presented


• Reliable, organised and willing to learn


• Naturally interested in jewellery, watches, fashion or luxury retail


• Comfortable using Instagram and creating social content


• Confident taking attractive photographs and short videos


• Able to communicate clearly and professionally

Excellent spoken and written English is essential, as the role involves detailed face\-to\-face communication with customers, accurately recording repair instructions and explaining technical information clearly.

Previous retail, jewellery, watch or luxury customer\-service experience would be an advantage, but personality, enthusiasm and willingness to learn are equally important.

Social media \& creativity

We would particularly like to hear from applicants who enjoy photography, Instagram, Reels or other forms of visual content creation.

If you have relevant examples of your work, you’re welcome to include a portfolio, social media account or links to content you’ve created with your application. This can be a professional, creative or public account — there is no requirement to provide access to a private personal social\-media profile.

Established in 1984, Marcus Tempus is an independent jeweller specialising in fine jewellery, gemstones, watches and traditional watch and clock repair.

Unlike a typical high\-street retail position, you’ll be working alongside an experienced team and learning about everything from gemstones and fine jewellery to mechanical watches and traditional clockmaking.

We’re a small business, so we’re looking for somebody who enjoys getting involved, learning new things and becoming a genuine part of the shop.
