Job Title: IT Support Engineer (Schools)
Reporting to: Head of Support Services
Location: Wigan (with travel to school sites in and amongst the Lancashire/Greater Manchester region)
Hours of Work: 37\.5 hours per week
Holidays: 25 days \+ bank holidays

Main Purpose of the Job
To deliver high\-quality IT support and services across a portfolio of schools, providing a mix of on\-site and remote support. The role includes troubleshooting, installations, project work, and contributing to continuous improvement of IT services within your allocated schools. Strong interpersonal skills and customer service are a must \- a successful candidate will be skilled at building rapport with their regular customer base.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide remote and on\-site technical support to end users
- Log, manage, and resolve support tickets in line with SLAs
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
- Attend scheduled school visits and respond to escalations
- Install and configure IT hardware, software, and network equipment
- Support Microsoft 365, Azure, and cloud environments
- Maintain Active Directory and core infrastructure services
- Create and maintain documentation and knowledge base articles
- Build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
- Assist with IT projects and deployments
- Follow company policies, procedures, and security standards
- Experience in IT support (education desirable)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem\-solving skills
- Good knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft 365
- Understanding of networking (TCP/IP, Wi\-Fi, switching)
- Experience with Active Directory and user management
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks
- Full UK driving license
- Have a clean enhanced DBS check (part of onboarding)
- Friendly and approachable
- Organised with strong time management skills
- Self\-motivated and proactive
- Team player
- Willingness to learn and develop
Pay: Up to £30,000\.00 per year
