Role Overview:
Assist in providing first\-line support to our users, ensuring that technical issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide first\-line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues, including troubleshooting and resolving IT\-related problems via email, phone, or in person.
- Assist in setting up, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software systems.
- Perform software installations, updates, and upgrades on users' systems.
- Help in diagnosing and resolving network and connectivity issues.
- Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of company servers, workstations, and network systems.
- Document and track support requests, solutions, and any ongoing issues using the helpdesk system.
- Provide basic support for Office 365, Active Directory, and other company\-specific software.
- Assist in user account management, including password resets and access permissions.
- Provide support during system outages and participate in IT projects as needed.
- Maintain IT inventory, including computers, printers, and accessories.
- Work closely with senior engineers and other IT staff to enhance internal processes and systems.
- Understanding of Windows and macOS operating systems, including software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Exposure to IT support tools (ticketing systems, remote desktop software, etc.).
- Knowledge of basic cybersecurity principles, including antivirus, firewalls, and encryption.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non\-technical users.
- Good problem\-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Enthusiastic about IT and eager to learn new skills.
- IT\-related certifications (e.g., CompTIA A\+, Microsoft Certified, or similar) are a plus but not essential.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Knowledge of cloud\-based applications like Office 365 or Google Workspace.
- knowledge of IT hardware and peripherals (PCs, printers, routers, etc.).
- Understanding of virtual environments and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or relevant IT qualifications/certifications.
