IT Department Manager

Duties

• Lead the management and optimization of server environments, including Windows Server, Linux, VMware vSphere, and AWS cloud platforms to ensure high availability and performance.


• Oversee network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, Cisco routers, firewalls, and switches to maintain secure and reliable connectivity across all departments.


• Implement and maintain information security measures such as network security protocols, firewall configurations, Active Directory management, and disaster recovery plans to safeguard organizational data.


• Supervise technical support teams providing desktop support, remote access assistance, and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues using tools like Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, ServiceNow, Jira, and Microsoft PowerPoint.


• Manage projects related to systems engineering initiatives including software development projects, network upgrades, and infrastructure enhancements utilizing project management methodologies aligned with ITIL standards.


• Conduct analysis of network performance metrics using SolarWinds and other monitoring tools to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.


• Lead the development of strategic plans for network engineering and infrastructure expansion while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing server management systems including Windows Server environments, VMware vSphere, Linux servers, and cloud services such as AWS and Azure.


• Strong knowledge of information security principles including network security measures like firewalls, VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), IIS (Internet Information Services), SQL databases (including Microsoft SQL Server), and remote access software.


• Demonstrated leadership skills with supervising experience in IT teams; capable of motivating staff while fostering a collaborative environment.


• Expertise in network engineering concepts such as LAN/WAN design, Cisco router configuration, firewall setup, DHCP management, DNS configuration, and network support strategies.


• Excellent analysis skills for troubleshooting complex technical issues across diverse systems; adept at project management with a focus on time management and organizational skills.


• Familiarity with IT service management frameworks like ITIL; experience with tools such as ServiceNow and Jira for workflow automation.


• Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly to non\-technical stakeholders; capable of managing multiple priorities effectively in a fast\-paced environment.
