Overview
A highly respected and long-established Chartered Accountancy firm in London is looking to appoint a new member of the Uk/US tax department. With a strong reputation and a broad client base, this firm offers excellent long-term stability, exposure and career development.
You will work alongside experienced International Tax Managers and Partners, handling a varied portfolio of US & UK personal tax clients, with involvement across compliance, advisory and planning work as your experience develops.
Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher salaries can be discussed.
Duties:
- Portfolio Management: Oversee a diverse client base of high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and families with complex dual-tax needs.
- Compliance Review: Review, sign off, and manage the delivery of US and UK individual tax returns, including IRS forms and UK self-assessments.
- Cross-Border Advisory: Provide specialized advice on residency, domicile, expatriate tax planning, and arriving or leaving both the US and the UK.
- Team Leadership: Mentor, coach, and delegate work to junior staff and assistant managers while supporting their technical and professional growth.
- Business Development: Build long-term client relationships and help identify new service opportunities or practice growth initiatives.
- Experience: Typically 3 or more years of hands-on dual-handler US and UK individual tax experience within a professional services or accounting firm.
- Credentials: Professional certifications such as an Enrolled Agent (EA) or US CPA, often paired with UK qualifications like ATT, CTA, or ACA.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep familiarity with IRS tax codes, UK HMRC rules, and dual-tax treaties.
- Soft Skills: Strong commercial awareness, project management capabilities, and clear communication skills for advising clients and stakeholders
A successful candidate for this position will have minimum 3+ years experience within US/International Tax and ideally be qualified in a recognised qualification (EA/ACA/ACCA or ATT/CTA).
You must live within a 1 hour 30 minute commute of the office.
