Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic sales team responsible for the delivery of defined sales targets, while managing key dealer relationships.
As an Internal Account Manager, your focus will be on developing the performance of the dealers within your defined region. You will be responsible for managing and nurturing relationships with our dealer partners, ensuring they have the necessary support and skills to sell the full range of motor finance products associated with Volkswagen Financial Services Ireland (VWFSIE).
Job Description
The Internal Sales Account Manager is a primarily office\-based Sales Development role designed to support Field Based Sales Development Managers while building strong foundations in sales, account management, and customer relationship management. The role plays a key part in supporting dealer partners and their customers through proactive engagement, training support, and structured outbound calling. It is an ideal opportunity for an individual who is interested in pursuing a long\-term career in sales and account management within VWFS.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management \& Sales Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for our Dealer partners.
- Act as the primary internal support for one or more Field Based Account Managers, helping to manage dealer relationships and activity throughout bound phone calls, e\-mails and Video Calls.
- Support the delivery of sales objectives by assisting with pipeline management, opportunity follow up, and dealer engagement.
- Prepare account information, reports, and updates to support field activity and customer meetings.
- Provide day to day support to dealer partners and their customers, ensuring queries are handled efficiently and professionally.
- Act as a key point of contact for dealers for product, process, and system related queries.
- Support dealer onboarding and ongoing engagement initiatives.
- Support the delivery of dealer training, including product updates, process changes, and system enhancements.
- Coordinate training sessions and materials in collaboration with Field Account Managers and internal stakeholders.
- Reinforce key VWFS propositions and best\-practice ways of working with dealers and VWFS processes.
- Deliver a structured outbound call pattern to dealers, aligned to sales campaigns, activity plans, and account strategies.
- Proactively identify opportunities for increased engagement, training needs, or sales support.
- Record call activity, outcomes, and follow up actions accurately in CRM systems.
- Actively develop sales, communication, and account management skills through on\-the\-job experience and formal development opportunities.
- Build a strong understanding of VWFS products, services, systems, and dealer network.
- Demonstrate readiness over time to progress into a field based or senior account management role.
- This role is primarily non face\-to\-face but there will be a requirement to attend some dealer meetings.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport over the phone and in writing.
- Customer \& Dealer\-focused mindset with a proactive and solution\-oriented approach.
- Organised and structured, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confident using systems, data, and reports to support sales activity.
- Resilient and motivated, with a genuine interest in sales and relationship management.
- APA or CIP qualification a distinct advantage, however not a requirement, but at minimum the successful candidate must be prepared to undertake and pass the APA exams upon appointment. (Or an alternative route of QFA modules (i) Loans (ii) Regulation.
- CIP01 and CIP04 Insurance Qualifications from the Insurance Institute of Ireland are also an advantage, however not a requirement, but the successful candidate would need to pass these within a 4\-year period and study towards sitting the first.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills.
- A strong credit background would be beneficial to support the completion of credit reviews, as well as to provide well\-informed recommendations and appeals.
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Excellent IT skills specifically using MS suite of products, a CRM system similar to Salesforce.
- The applicant for this role must comply with the fitness and probity and minimum competency standards.
- Comfortable making outbound calls and engaging proactively with customers or partners.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Exposure to automotive, financial services, or dealer environments.
- Experience supporting account managers or sales teams.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and sales reporting.
- Desirable experience gained within the Motor industry.
- Desirable experience gained within the financial services industry.
- Desirable experience of adding value within a sales process.
