Job Title: Internal Business Development Manager (Lead Generation) – Fire Protection Maintenance and Projects

Location: Bridgwater (office\-based)

Role Overview:

The Internal Business Development Manager is a key role responsible for driving new business opportunities through proactive lead generation within targeted market sectors. Operating primarily from the office, the role focuses on generating, qualifying, and securing high\-quality meetings for the Directors to convert into sales opportunities.

Success in this position requires a highly motivated, target\-driven individual with strong communication skills and a resilience to achieve both activity and output\-based objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation

  • Proactively generate new business opportunities through telesales and telemarketing activity

  • Target specific industry sectors and decision\-makers in line with company strategy

  • Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of prospective clients
Lead Qualification
  • Engage with prospects to understand their needs, requirements, and potential fit

  • Qualify leads against defined criteria to ensure quality and conversion potential

  • Accurately capture key information within CRM systems
Appointment Setting
  • Secure qualified meetings for Directors to progress opportunities

  • Provide clear, structured handovers to senior sales team members

  • Ensure all meetings booked meet agreed qualification standards
Sales Activity Management
  • Meet and exceed daily and monthly activity targets, including:

  • Call volumes (dials)

  • Connected calls

  • Meaningful sales conversations

  • Maintain high levels of consistency, discipline, and productivity
Performance \& Target Delivery
  • Achieve a monthly target value of qualified leads generated

  • Balance activity levels with output quality to drive measurable results

  • Continuously improve approach based on conversion performance
Reporting \& CRM Management
  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions and pipeline activity

  • Provide regular updates on performance against targets

  • Identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

· Number of outbound calls (Dials)

· Number of connected calls/conversations (Meaningful Sales Interactions/MSIs)

· Number of qualified leads generated

· Value and quality of pipeline created

· Number of meetings booked for Directors

· Conversion rates from Lead to Opportunity

Skills \& Experience:

· Proven experience in telesales, telemarketing, or internal sales roles

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Confident and professional telephone manner

· Ability to engage and influence decision\-makers

· Highly target\-driven with a strong work ethic

· Organised, self\-motivated, and resilient

· Experience using CRM systems (preferred)

Remuneration \& Commission:

· Competitive base salary

· Performance\-based commission structure

· Commission driven by a matrix model, rewarding both:

\- Achievement of activity targets (calls and conversations)

\- Delivery of output targets (qualified leads and pipeline value)
