Leeds Trinity University is seeking an experienced Financial Transactions Manager to join our Finance team on a 6\-month fixed\-term contract. We are looking for a candidate who can start immediately, or at very short notice, to provide leadership and support to our operational finance function during a key period for the University
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to step into a well\-established team and make an immediate impact, leading the delivery of efficient, accurate and compliant financial operations across the University.
About the Role
You will lead and manage the University's transactional finance activities, ensuring the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial operations while maintaining strong financial controls and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the day\-to\-day operation of the Finance Office and ensuring finance activities are delivered efficiently and accurately.
- Managing and developing a team of Finance Assistants, allocating workloads, monitoring performance and supporting continuous improvement.
- Providing expert financial guidance to colleagues across the University and supporting sound financial decision\-making.
- Acting as a key contact for internal and external auditors and coordinating the provision of financial information.
- Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring financial controls are robust and effective.
- Managing bursary payments and financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with funding requirements.
- Leading process improvements, system enhancements and finance\-related projects that improve efficiency and service delivery.
You will be an experienced finance professional with strong operational finance knowledge, proven leadership skills and the ability to quickly establish credibility within a busy and complex environment.
You will have:
- Significant experience within a finance operations, transactional finance or financial control role.
- Experience leading and developing finance teams.
- Strong knowledge of financial controls, reconciliations and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting internal and external audits.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to make sound professional judgements and manage competing priorities effectively.
- A proactive approach and the ability to hit the ground running.
