Insurance Pricing Manager - Home/Household
Are you an insurance pricing leader who thrives on shaping strategy, driving performance, and influencing commercial outcomes? We’re looking for an experienced Pricing Manager to take ownership of a Home Insurance portfolio, distributed through key broker and partnership channels, for a top UK insurer.
This is a high‑impact leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys blending pricing expertise with commercial judgement, stakeholder influence, team development, and moving the needle with regards underwriting and trading performance.
You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering financial targets for a growing Home portfolio, working closely with senior stakeholders across pricing, underwriting, product, and distribution. Managing and developing a team of analysts, you’ll help shape the future of pricing by embedding sophisticated models into customer rating and ensuring risk is accurately priced.
Operating in a collaborative, hybrid environment, you’ll have real influence over underwriting strategy, partner performance, and long‑term portfolio profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pricing strategy and deliver underwriting performance across a Home Insurance partnership portfolio
- Act as a deputy to senior pricing leadership, contributing to wider underwriting and commercial strategy
- Define and deliver pricing and portfolio analysis to balance growth, competitiveness, and profitability
- Support the tendering, onboarding, and optimisation of new and existing distribution partners
- Drive innovation in underwriting segmentation and rating structures
- Establish and maintain robust rate relativity and profitability review processes
- Provide pricing input into budget planning, new scheme evaluations, and partnership bids
- Line manage, mentor, and develop a team of pricing analysts
- Strong experience managing a pricing portfolio within general insurance
- Proven track record of delivering financial targets utilising risk premium models
- Commercial awareness of the Home Insurance market (other personal lines product experience also considered)
- Experience challenging the status quo and introducing pricing or underwriting innovation
- Exposure to tools such as Radar, Databricks, machine learning models, or equivalent pricing technologies
- Confident stakeholder manager, comfortable influencing across functions and seniority levels
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing junior team members
