Here at GXO, we're recruiting for an Industrial Engineer to join our Sherburn\-in\-Elmet operation. This is a full\-time, permanent role, working Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30, where you'll play a key role in supporting operational excellence through industrial engineering methodologies, performance measurement and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with operational teams and the Continuous Improvement function, you'll help drive improvements in productivity, quality, service, cost and safety through data\-led decision making and process optimisation.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Design, implement and maintain operational measurement systems, developing KPIs and performance standards that support operational excellence and business objectives

  • Conduct time studies, motion studies and detailed process analysis to identify performance gaps, bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement across the operation

  • Support and lead Continuous Improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and root cause analysis methodologies to reduce waste and improve efficiency

  • Analyse operational data and develop dashboards, reports and performance insights that support effective decision making and drive measurable business improvements

  • Manage improvement projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring benefits are delivered, improvements are sustained, and operational teams are fully engaged throughout the process
What you need to succeed at GXO:
  • Previous experience within Industrial Engineering, Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement or a similar process improvement role within logistics, warehousing, manufacturing or supply chain

  • Strong analytical capability, including experience conducting time and motion studies, process mapping and performance measurement activities

  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement methodologies with experience applying these tools to deliver measurable business results

  • Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel and experience with reporting and business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar platforms

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, engage and collaborate with colleagues across all levels of the business
