Independent Cafe and Bakery Manager / Assistant Manager with progression opportunities

Atlas the Bakery are looking for a Cafe and Bakery Manager – or an ambitious Assistant Manager ready to take the next step!

Firstly... Experience managing or supervising a team in a busy café, bakery, restaurant or hospitality environment is essential. It's a non\-negotiable for us. We're looking for someone who can lead from the front, support the team, and take ownership of the day\-to\-day running of the bakery and cafe. We're a daytime hours only cafe/bakery and we close on Sundays!

We're looking for someone who...

Has a passion for hospitality. We're a small independent bakery and café. We make banging bread, serve great coffee and food we're genuinely proud of. We want someone who shares that passion and wants to help create a place where customers have a brilliant experience every time they visit. Standards matter to us, and we're looking for someone who cares about the details.

Is a natural leader and problem solver. We have a close\-knit team and we're looking for someone who can motivate people, communicate clearly and create a positive working environment. Whether it's leading a busy service and being the go\-to senior figure for all matters, supporting newer members of the team or solving problems as they arise, we need someone who enjoys bringing the best out of others and isn't afraid to tackle issues head on, utilising the team whilst doing so.

Is organised, calm and can prioritise. Every day is different. You'll be balancing customer service, staffing, stock, admin and the unexpected, so being able to stay calm under pressure and keep everything running smoothly is key.

Has a keen eye for stock, ordering and standards. We don't have endless storage space, so good stock control, ordering, rotation and minimising waste are all important. Experience managing stock and working with suppliers would be a real bonus.

Understands great customer service. We want every customer to leave happier than when they came in. Whether it's chatting to regulars, dealing with an issue professionally or supporting the team during a busy Saturday morning, you'll lead by example.

Is happy to get stuck in wherever needed whilst having the ability to delegate professionally. It's a small, independent business. Some days you'll be behind the coffee machine, some days serving customers, helping clear tables, putting deliveries away or jumping in to support the bakery or kitchen. No job is beneath anybody. We all muck in because that's what makes the place work.

Has a positive, can\-do attitude. We have quieter spells when we catch up on cleaning, prep, paperwork or planning, and we have plenty of busy spells where it's all hands on deck. We're looking for someone who knows when it's time to roll their sleeves up and lead from the front, whilst keeping standards high and the atmosphere positive.

Wants to grow with us. If you're applying as an Assistant Manager, we're looking for someone with the ambition and potential to progress into a full Manager role as the business continues to grow. We'll support the right person to develop into that position.

Ultimately, we're a small independent bakery and eatery. We make great bread, serve food we're proud of and care about doing things properly. We work hard, have a laugh whilst we're doing it, and look after each other. We're looking for someone who shares those values, wants to take ownership, and will help us continue building something special.

It's a fun job in a genuinely supportive environment. We are looking for a full\-time Manager or Assistant Manager with future progression into a manager role. Weekend availability is essential. Salary dependant upon experience.
