The Role
The day\-to\-day role will range from “front of house” consulting, interfacing with customers on the planning and implementation of ILS/IPS strategies, to “backroom” support performing detailed analysis and modelling of system support solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engage with clients to plan, shape, and implement ILS/IPS strategies across acquisition and in\-service phases

  • Produce and maintain IPS artefacts including Supportability Cases, LSAR\-derived outputs, maintenance concepts, analysis of support requirements, and availability, reliability and maintainability assessments

  • Perform detailed supportability modelling: spares forecasting, maintenance planning, failure trend analysis, and support cost modelling

  • Support verification and validation activities for ILS deliverables against MoD and contractual requirements

  • Provide clear reporting on supportability risks, issues, and recommended actions

  • Contribute to the growth of the Whitetree Supportability and Technical Services capability through development of methods, knowledge assets, thought leadership and mentoring of colleagues

  • Lead customer workshops and stakeholder engagements to define Support Solutions and resolve supportability challenges

  • Present recommendations and analytical findings to customer and leadership teams

  • Support the development of bids, proposals and business growth activities where appropriate
In your first 3\-6 months, key achievements may include:
  • Embedded into a client project, delivering high\-quality ILS artefacts and analysis with positive stakeholder feedback

  • Demonstrated competence in Whitetree tools, templates, and delivery frameworks

  • Built trusted relationships with client and supplier stakeholders, contributing to smooth project delivery

  • Working closely with Systems Engineering and Asset Management teams to develop integrated support solutions
Skills \& experience required* Demonstrable experience delivering Supportability Engineering, ILS or IPS activities within complex engineering programmes.
  • Knowledge of MoD ILS processes (Def\-Stan 00\-600\) and/or Industry IPS processes (ASD S\-Series).

  • Experience gained within the Defence Industry; UK MoD background would be desirable.

  • Understanding of obsolescence management principles and relevant standards, including IEC 62402\.

  • Experience producing ILS/IPS deliverables such as ISP, Supportability Case Reports (SCRs), Maintenance Plans, Technical Documentation, and Spares Recommendations

  • Working knowledge of SA techniques such as FMECA, RCM, LORA, MTA.

  • Ability to analyse complex engineering information and develop practical through\-life support solutions.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, suppliers and multi\-disciplinary teams.

  • Engineering degree, equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience desirable.
Eligibility and working requirements
  • Ideally located within a commutable distance to Bristol

  • Current right to live and work in the UK

  • Current SC clearance or willing and eligible to undergo a Security Clearance check

  • Willingness and ability to work from home and travel for client engagements, including overnight stays away from home around the UK when required
