Hygiene Controller

Working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern which consists of 2 x 12 hour day shifts 6\-18 followed by 2 x 12 hour night shifts 18\-6

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Hygiene Manager, responsible for maintaining plant sanitation and cleanliness to a level that ensures a quality product for our customers and a clean working environment for all our associates, in line with the expectations of our organisational stakeholders. Responsible for ensuring that cleaning practices deliver continuous improvement through the achievement of department objectives/KPI’s

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Ensure that a safe working environment exists for all Associates and that as a minimum, the standards set out in the Company H\&S manual are met at all times

• Monitor staffing levels, holiday scheduling, management of rest days, conduct return to work interviews and organise the supply of temporary Agency hygiene members, ensuring that Agency and labour spend does not exceed budgeted costs


• Improve Associate relations through best practice, conduct disciplinary action (to first written warning level), performance reviews, probationary reviews, investigations, monthly 1:1’s, annual appraisals and act as the first point of contact for Hygiene Operatives.


• Ensure Associates within your responsibility have all of the required training, including chemical awareness to complete all Hygiene related tasks.


• Ensure that the plant is cleaned in line with the Planning Schedule (deep cleans and daily cleans), maximising downtime. Product safety should never be compromised as a result of poor hygiene.


• Ensure that only the appropriate safe systems of work and use of chemicals are adopted at all times.


• Work with key stakeholders e.g. Shift Managers and Engineers to ensure harmonious, efficient working.


• Ensure all SOP’s, Risk Assessments and documentation are kept up to date and records are available at all times for audit, due diligence and traceability purposes


• Implement effective and efficient hygiene practices and safe systems of work. Have in place cleaning regimes to prevent water ingress and cross\-contamination

Pay: £33,000\.00\-£34,000\.00 per year
