If you have a passion for plant breeding and scientific research, this is an exciting opportunity to join our international teams as Hybrid Wheat Project Manager. Based at Ickleton, near Cambridge, this full\-time, permanent role will lead and coordinate hybrid wheat research projects, working with global partners to drive innovation in plant breeding. You will coordinate project partners, manage milestones, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to the programme through the interpretation and reporting of genomic, seed, and field trial data. The role also includes hands\-on breeding activities such as field assessments, harvesting, and seed preparation.

Your prime responsibilities will be:

• Collation and curation of above data and associated analyses to ensure that data is accessible and interpretable to project partners.


• Preparation of written reports and PowerPoint presentations to communicate data, analyses and to report on project progress.


• Organisation of regular meetings with project partners to ensure communication of results.


• Working with project partners to ensure that project milestones are appropriate defined and met or appropriately re\-aligned.


• Ensuring appropriate compliance of project rules for exchange of data and germplasm.


• Ensuring compliance of international import and export legislation (e.g. phytosanitary procedures, customs requirements) for exchange of germplasm and DNA.


• Interpreting hybrid wheat programme data and analyses, genomic analyses, and seed production data.


• Contribution to technical and breeding aspects of the hybrid wheat programme (field assessments and scoring, harvest, seed preparation, experimental data generation)

• MSc in a plant science or biological science subject, or a degree with relevant experience. A PhD in a plant science subject is preferred but not essential.


• Experience of scientific project management


• Proficient in MS Office \- Excel, Word, PowerPoint


• Experience of presenting scientific data in a concise and easily interpreted format


• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with a range of project partners.


• Experience of plant breeding and/or associated statistical analysis methods is preferred but not essential.

• Full time permanent position (37 hours per week)


• Competitive salary up to £34,000 – £38,000 (depending on experience)
