What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and manage HSQE activities across construction/site operations.
- Develop, implement and maintain HSQE policies, procedures, plans and risk assessments and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Health and Safety, environmental and quality Legislation, regulations and client requirements.
- Manage the Company’s ISO certification and support successful external certification, surveillance and recertification audits.
- Develop, implement, maintain and continually improve the company’s Integrated Management Systems and ensure the Systems remain complaint with ISO Standards.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to project teams, supervisors and leadership on all HSQE matters.
- Liaise with clients, principal contractors, consultants and other professionals on HSQE matters.
- Facilitating project risk reviews and supporting method statement preparation.
- Support the preparation and review of RAMS. COSHH assessments, environmental plans and quality plans and other relevant documentation.
- Monitor environmental performance, including waste, pollution prevention and sustainability requirements.
- Collect, validate and analyse carbon data relating to materials, plant, fuel, transport, waste, energy and other project activities.
- Maintain accurate carbon reporting records and provide emissions data and performance reports to clients and project management teams.
- Identify opportunities to reduce carbon emissions and support the implementation of project\-specific carbon reduction initiatives.
- Ensure the company’s activities and project documentation align with applicable requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated legislation and guidance.
- Monitoring performance data, identifying trends, and driving targeted improvement initiatives.
- Deliver HSQE inductions, briefings, toolbox talks and training where required.
- Conducting site inspections and audits, producing clear reports, and ensuring effective close\-out actions.
- Lead and co\-ordinate internal and external audits and compliance processes.
- Working closely with Project Managers and site teams to meet and exceed HSQE objectives.
- Identifying skills or competency gaps and helping teams address them.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (Level 5 or above or working towards).
- Environmental or quality management qualification (ISO 14001/ IS0 9001\)
- Health and Safety Management (ISO 45001\)
- Membership of IOSH (desirable).
- Strong working knowledge of current HSQE legislation and best practice.
- Proven experience developing and implementing procedures.
- Experience preparing for and managing internal and external audits.
- Confident communicator with strong leadership and influencing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Experience within Groundworks and RC Frame projects (highly desirable).
