Reliance Social Housing C.I.C (RSH) is a not\-for\-profit registered provider of social housing made up of around 80 staff. Registered in 2018, Reliance has expanded and innovated, providing both temporary and general needs accommodation.
We are hiring for a highly organised and detail\-oriented HR Officer to join our HR Team.
Role Overview
As an HR Officer, you will work closely with leaders, line managers, and external HR providers to develop and improve HR systems, processes, and services. You will play a hands\-on role across all HR functions, supporting staff and promoting efficient, compliant and effective ways of working.
The successful candidate will be approachable, discreet and highly organised, with the ability to manage sensitive information professionally and with integrity.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a solid understanding of human resources practices as well as good technical understanding of HR Platforms or a willingness to learn.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide advice on all employee relations matters, compliant with UK employment law, including, but not limited to performance management, disciplinaries, grievances, redundancies, restructures and other people management change initiatives
- Research, create and implement any new HR initiatives, as appropriate
- Coordinate recruitment processes, from job adverts and interviews to onboarding new starters
- Maintain accurate HR records, systems, and reporting (absence, turnover, payroll support)
- Coordinating job postings, and scheduling interviews
- Supplying managers with support and training on areas of HR, providing hands\-on support to aid their development
- Manage the HR inbox and escalate issues as appropriate
- Assist with learning and development initiatives and training coordination
- Ensure compliance with employment law, right to work checks, and internal policies
- Assist with general HR administrative tasks, such as preparing employee contracts, reviewing H\&S functions, disciplinary matters and flexible working requests
- Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement across the company
- Manage HRIS system and ensure data integrity
- Manage end\-to\-end HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations
- Assisting with disciplinary investigations and producing formal HR documentation.
- Chair and take minutes for key HR meetings, which may include disciplinary meetings, grievance meetings, inductions and exit interviews
*Essential Criteria:*
- Strong administrative, organisational skills with attention to detail
- Experience in HR or administrative roles
- Strong confidence in sensitive or challenging situations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal and external stakeholders
- Handles sensitive and confidential information with utmost integrity and professionalism, adhering to strict data protection regulations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn HR systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Level 5 CIPD qualification (required)
- Previous experience in a HR or administration role.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent minimum qualification.
- Team player and willing to work in the constantly changing environment of a growing social housing provider

- Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
- Strong sense of initiative when give freedom on projects
