Salary: £40,000 – £47,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Bristol Head Office / Hybrid (minimum 2 days in the office, including Wednesdays)
Hours: 37\.5 per week, Monday to Friday (we’re open to flexible or reduced hours for the right candidate)

About the role
We’re looking for an HR Manager to take ownership of day\-to\-day HR activity, with a strong focus on employee relations and supporting managers across the business.
This is a hands\-on role, but also a great opportunity to take real ownership and shape how we do things. Alongside managing complex ER cases, you’ll play a key role in developing others in the team, sharing your knowledge, building confidence, and helping to strengthen capability across the function.
There’s also plenty of scope to identify and lead improvements, so it would suit someone who enjoys making positive, practical change and building on what’s already in place.
*Please note: this role is advertised externally as HR Manager for clarity, but the internal title is People \& Development Manager.*
What you’ll be doing
- Managing and resolving a range of employee relations cases, including more complex matters
- Providing clear, practical advice to managers on policies and employment issues
- Supporting and developing team members, particularly around ER capability
- Delivering focused management training to build confidence and consistency
- Supporting HR systems, data accuracy, and reporting
- Leading policy updates and improving core People processes
