Job Type: Full\-time
Working Pattern: On\-site / office\-based
About Us
At Oasis Manor Care, we are dedicated to creating safe, nurturing and supportive homes for children and young people. Our mission is to nurture positive childhood experiences while building strong, trusting relationships between children and the adults who care for them.
We specialise in supporting children aged 6 to 17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties, providing structured, compassionate environments where young people can feel safe, heal, grow and thrive.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced HR \& Compliance Manager to help strengthen our people processes, safer recruitment practices and regulatory compliance across our homes.
About the Role
This is a senior, hands\-on role responsible for leading HR, safer recruitment and compliance across our children’s residential services. You will work closely with the Registered Managers, Responsible Individual and senior leadership team to ensure our homes remain compliant, inspection\-ready and aligned with Ofsted expectations.
This is not a purely administrative HR role. We are looking for someone confident, organised and experienced, with the ability to advise managers, challenge poor practice, maintain strong systems and ensure our recruitment and compliance processes are safe, robust and legally sound.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping our HR function as the organisation grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage HR and compliance processes across our children’s residential homes
- Oversee safer recruitment, including DBS checks, Right to Work checks, references, employment history verification, gaps in employment and suitability checks
- Ensure all recruitment and onboarding processes are compliant with children’s residential care regulations, safeguarding expectations and Ofsted standards
- Maintain accurate, audit\-ready staff files, HR records and compliance documentation
- Support Registered Managers and senior leaders with employee relations matters, including absence management, probation reviews, performance concerns, investigations, disciplinaries and grievances
- Draft, review and update HR policies, procedures, contracts, templates and operational documents
- Monitor staff training records, mandatory training compliance and CPD requirements
- Support workforce planning, staff retention and succession planning across the homes
- Prepare for audits and inspections by ensuring all HR and compliance documentation is complete, accurate and up to date
- Provide advice and guidance to managers on HR best practice, employment law, safer recruitment and safeguarding\-related compliance
- Support health and safety compliance, risk management and general operational governance where required
- Identify gaps in systems and processes, and implement improvements to strengthen compliance and efficiency
- CIPD Level 7 qualification, or equivalent senior HR qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar HR and compliance role, ideally within children’s residential care, social care, education or another Ofsted\-regulated setting
- Strong knowledge of safer recruitment, safeguarding, DBS processes, Right to Work checks and employment history verification
- Good understanding of Ofsted expectations and the importance of maintaining inspection\-ready records
- Confident knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Experience supporting managers with employee relations cases, including absence, performance, disciplinaries and grievances
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and identify compliance gaps
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities across more than one service
- Confident communicator who can build trust with managers, staff, candidates and external professionals
- Professional, discreet and able to handle confidential information appropriately
- Proactive, practical and solutions\-focused, with the confidence to take ownership of the HR and compliance function
- Previous experience working within children’s residential care
- Experience preparing for Ofsted inspections or internal compliance audits
- Knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Experience using HR systems, rota systems or care compliance platforms
- Experience supporting organisational growth, staff retention and workforce planning
- Salary up to £60,000, depending on experience
- The opportunity to join a growing organisation at an exciting stage of development
- A role with real influence, where your work directly supports the quality and safety of care provided to children
- A close\-knit, values\-led team where your contribution is recognised
- Regular team\-building days and a supportive management structure
- Ongoing professional development and training
- The chance to shape HR and compliance processes as we continue to grow
- Meaningful work where strong recruitment, safe staffing and good compliance directly impact children’s lives
