Role and location
HR Business Partner, 3 days in office (Burnley \& Lomeshaye)
Purpose of the Role
To partner with business leaders and managers to improve organisational performance through effective people management, workforce planning, employee engagement and organisational development, whilst ensuring adherence to employment legislation and company policies.
The role acts as the bridge between operational management and the People \& Compliance function, providing commercially focused people solutions that support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic People Partnering
- Partner with departmental leaders to understand business priorities and workforce requirements.
- Provide commercially focused people advice that supports operational performance.
- Support organisational design, restructuring and workforce planning initiatives.
- Identify people risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Lead complex disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence cases.
- Coach managers through employee relations processes.
- Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures.
- Minimise legal and employee relations risk.
- Support succession planning and talent reviews.
- Drive performance management processes.
- Work with leaders to identify capability gaps.
- Support delivery of learning and development initiatives.
- Analyse people metrics including:
- turnover
- absence
- engagement
- recruitment
- retention
- Provide insight and recommendations to leadership teams.
- Produce regular people dashboards and reports.
- Support change programmes, restructures and consultations.
- Provide guidance on employment law implications.
- Manage communication and employee engagement activities during change.
- Ensure compliance with:
- Employment law
- GDPR
- Equality legislation
- Internal policies
- Support audits and compliance reviews.
- Escalate compliance risks where identified.
- Support delivery of engagement initiatives.
- Partner with leaders to improve employee experience.
- Promote company values and culture.
- Drive wellbeing and inclusion programmes.
Essential
- 4–8 years HR / People experience
- Experience of HR systems implementation and development
- Strong employee relations experience
- Sound understanding of UK employment law
- Experience partnering with operational managers
- Strong stakeholder management capability
- Commercial awareness
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Experience using HR data and analytics
- CIPD Level 5 qualified
- Experience within multi\-site operations
- Experience supporting organisational change
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks
- Experience in retail, ecommerce or distribution environments
