HR and Payroll Manager

Accurate, dependable payroll has a direct effect on people’s trust in a business. In this flexible part\-time role, you will take ownership of the monthly cycle, strengthen the HR information behind it and improve how payroll, systems and controls work together.

What you will own
- Run the monthly payroll timetable from HR inputs and checks through approval, payment and reconciliation.
- Process employee changes accurately and keep HR records, payroll data, controls and audit trails reliable.
- Support a seamless transition from the external payroll provider to an in\-house payroll model, maintaining accuracy, continuity and clear controls throughout.
- Reconcile gross\-to\-net pay, PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, statutory payments and deductions.
- Complete RTI and HMRC submissions and support year\-end work, including P60s, P11Ds and pension administration.
- Prepare core HR documents, answer employee and manager queries, and improve the processes and systems around payroll.
- Hands\-on experience running UK monthly payroll end to end, including HR inputs and employee changes.
- Sound knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, RTI, HMRC requirements, statutory payments and pension auto\-enrolment.
- Experience with year\-end, reconciliations, variance analysis and resolving payroll errors.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with systems such as Access People, Xero, BrightPay, Sage or IRIS.
- Care with confidential information, clear communication and sound judgement. CIPP or professional services experience is an advantage.

Pay: £45,000\.00\-£55,000\.00 per year
