The Role
We are looking for a motivated and professional HR and admin Support Officer to join our HR team.
You will provide front\-line HR support to managers and employees, ensuring compliance with company policies, safeguarding standards, and employment legislation. You will gain hands\-on experience across all HR processes from recruitment to retirement in a regulated care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Service Delivery: Provide first\-line HR advice, support managers and staff, and maintain professional, confidential, and timely HR services.
- HR Administration \& Information Management: Maintain accurate employee records, support DBS checks, prepare contracts and HR documentation, and generate reports.
- Recruitment \& Onboarding: Assist in recruitment campaigns, conduct safer recruitment checks, and coordinate inductions.
- Employee Relations \& HR Processes: Support absence management, probation reviews, and employee relations matters.
- Continuous Improvement \& Projects: Identify HR process improvements and support wellbeing, engagement, and recognition initiatives.
- Personal \& Professional Development: Opportunity to complete the Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship, engaging with mentors and learning opportunities.
Knowledge:
- Understanding of HR policies, employment law, safer recruitment, and sector regulations.
- Awareness of HR’s role in supporting staff wellbeing and compliance.
- Familiarity with HR systems, processes, and reporting standards.
- Professional HR service delivery, problem solving, and effective communication.
- Ability to maintain accurate HR data and support team initiatives.
- Strong teamwork and willingness to learn.
- Honesty, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Resilience in a fast\-paced care environment.
- GCSEs in English and Maths (or willingness to achieve Level 2\).
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Interest in HR and the children’s care sector.
- Commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding.
- Previous HR, administrative, or recruitment experience.
- Understanding of safer recruitment and Ofsted regulations.
