Newberry International Produce Ltd is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic HR Advisor to join our team at Hazel Park in Ledbury.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business during a significant period of development. Working closely with the Head of People, you will help shape our people practices, support positive change and contribute to the continued development of our workplace culture.

This is a varied, generalist HR role with a strong employee relations focus. You will provide practical and commercially focused support to managers and employees across the full employment lifecycle, while also contributing to wider projects involving HR systems, employee benefits, engagement and organisational development.

What you’ll be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing practical HR advice and guidance to managers and employees

  • Managing employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and welfare matters

  • Conducting workplace investigations and preparing clear, balanced reports and associated correspondence

  • Coaching managers through formal and informal people processes

  • Supporting recruitment activity from vacancy approval through to onboarding

  • Building positive relationships with recruitment agencies and other external partners

  • Preparing contracts, offer letters and other employment documentation

  • Coordinating onboarding, induction and probationary review processes

  • Maintaining accurate employee records, HR systems and the company training matrix

  • Helping the business respond to employment law changes and compliance requirements

  • Supporting employee engagement, wellbeing and recognition initiatives

  • Contributing to the review and redesign of our employee benefits and reward offering

  • Supporting the selection, implementation and continuous improvement of HR systems and technology

  • Contributing to workforce planning, organisational development and succession planning

  • Supporting the Head of People with delivery of the wider People Strategy.
What we’re looking for

You will have previous experience in an HR Advisor, HR Coordinator or generalist HR role, together with sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.

You should also have:

  • Strong employee relations experience

  • Experience managing disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability matters

  • Confidence in providing practical advice to managers and employees

  • Experience conducting investigations and preparing reports

  • Strong written communication skills, with experience drafting HR letters and documentation

  • Excellent listening and relationship\-building skills

  • The ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters professionally

  • Strong organisation and attention to detail

  • A proactive, practical and positive approach

  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast\-paced and changing environment
A CIPD Level 5 qualification, or a willingness to work towards it, would be desirable. Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, logistics or another operational setting would also be beneficial.

Additional experience involving HR systems implementation, employee benefits, payroll, organisational change, workforce consultation or trade union legislation would be welcomed but is not essential.

Working arrangements

This role is based at our food manufacturing facility at Hazel Park and requires on\-site attendance five days per week.

As a hands\-on HR role supporting employees and managers across a fast\-paced operational environment, maintaining a visible and approachable presence within the factory is an important part of the position.
